charming traditional stay near kanazawa's best attractions

I loved my stay at this unique spot, where the cozy tatami room gave a perfect traditional ryokan experience and relaxing communal onsen provided a great way to unwind after exploring nearby landmarks like the stunning Kenroku-en, just a short walk away.

    kind staff
    shared bathrooms
    steep stairs

The staff was very kind and welcoming to us.

The shared bathrooms were quite a nuisance during peak hours, and I often felt awkward brushing my teeth in the lobby area, as everyone could see me. The stairs leading to the upper levels are steep and can be a challenge, especially for older guests. Plus, the rooms are not soundproof. I was frequently disturbed by conversations from the neighboring unit.

    laundry hours

The Japanese-Style Quadruple Room with Garden View offers a lovely view of a well-maintained Japanese garden that adds a serene touch to the experience. The baths are wonderfully hot, making for a truly relaxing way to unwind after a day of exploration.

Laundry hours run from 9 am to 21:30, which forces you to plan around that if you need clean clothes. Also, during colder months, the hallways can feel a bit chilly, so come prepared with something warm for those trips to the restroom since the rooms have solid air conditioning, keeping them comfortably warm.

This traditional ryokan provided a warm and comfortable experience in a quiet room with a beautiful garden view. The shared baths were wonderfully relaxing after a busy day, but the shared bathroom setup could be inconvenient during peak times. Overall, the Japanese breakfast was a highlight, truly showcasing the local cuisine.

great experience but bathroom setup could be improved

The staff really stood out, providing genuine hospitality and making me feel welcomed. The Japanese breakfast was exceptional, with a variety of flavors that truly showcased the local cuisine. I enjoyed a serene garden view that added a peaceful touch to my stay, creating a lovely atmosphere to relax in.

My Japanese-Style Quadruple Room with Garden View was really clean and cozy. Sleeping on tatami mats was surprisingly comfortable after a long day out! Plus, having a lovely view of the garden was a nice touch. The shared bathroom wasn’t a big deal for us, but I could see how it might not be for everyone. Overall, it was a charming introduction to traditional Japanese accommodations.

It was just a decent option for a whistle-stop in Kanazawa with fantastic value for money. The communal Japanese hot bath was a great way to unwind after a long day exploring. Remember to bring warm clothes for the hallway in colder months.
